ICCGSA WILL IMPLEMENT THE PROJECT OF CATAC-HUARI ROAD IMPROVEMENT IN ANCASH

  • The project of 84.94 km, spread over three sections, will have an investment of S/. 86’ 397,390.
  • The Catac-Huari road will benefit the population of Ancash and Peru since it will facilitate access to main regional and local markets, as well as the thousand-year-old temple of Chavin de Huantar.

The Regional Government of Ancash awarded the mining company Antamina, through the Work for Taxes system, the project: “Departmental Road Improvement: EMP.PE 3N (Catac) – Kahuish tunnel – Chavin de Huantar – San Marcos – EMP. PE -14 A (Succha), Recuay and Huari provinces” in Ancash. The mining company Antamina entrusted ICCGSA - Ingenieros Civiles y Contratistas Generales S.A.- the construction of this project. The project will have a total investment of S/. 86’ 397,390.

The project implementation consists of 84.94 km in length and it is divided in three sections. The first section, Catac- Kahuish tunnel, of 34.94 km in length. The second section, Kahuish tunnel – Chavin de Huantar- San Marcos, of 40.20 km in length. The third section, San Marcos – Succha, of 9,80 km in length. During the first six months, it will be executed works of access and regular maintenance, at the same time, it will be created the Road Management Program for investment phase and road maintenance. Once the Regional Government approves the Road Management Program, it will start investment works in three sections, as well as the regular maintenance service and emergency response throughout the five-year contract.  

The execution deadline is 5 years, being the final goal to improve and ensure a proper access between Catac and Huari. The project will be executed based on the technical parameters of Peru Project 2 that the Ministry of Transport and Communications applies in roads of the national road network.
