Huancayo – Izcuchaca Section was restored after a mountain landslide in Huancavelica in January

The firm Ingenieros Civiles y Contratistas Generales S.A. (ICCGSA) reports that vehicle transit on the Huancayo-Izcuchaca road has been fully restored after it sustained damages due to a mountain landslide last January 20th in the District of Cuenca, in Huancavelica.

ICCGSA specifies that kilometers 180 and 181 of the Huancayo-Izcuchaca road affected by caving-in of the platform and the sliding of earth and rocks are currently safe and transitable. Recovery works consisted in digging and building of stabilizing shoulders to make a new, 30 m-long platform.

It should be noted that, to reinforce this road of Provías Nacional, ICCGSA conducted recycling works and laying of a new 5 cm-thick asphalt layer. And, this year, it plans to conduct routine maintenance and compacting services for the Quichuas-Mayocc, Pampas-Churcampa and Churcampa-Mayocc sections, where compacted concrete and asphalt mortar will be laid.

The firm recommends users of this road to drive carefully because it is a winding road and maintenance thereof is ongoing for better transitability.
