The President of the Republic and the Ministry of Transport launch the Road Integration Project Tacna – La Paz, section Tacna - Collpa

The President of the Republic, Ollanta Humala, along with the Ministry of Transport, José Gallardo, the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion, Paola Bustamante and Regional Governor of Tacna, Omar Jiménez, participated in the launching of the road integration project Tacna – La Paz, section Tacna – Collpa that will interconnect Peru and Bolivia, from Tacna.

The execution of the Project, in charge of ICCGSA - Ingenieros Civiles y Contratistas Generales S.A. who was awarded the work, will strength the border integration and improve the economic, commercial, and touristic activities between both countries.

The section of 42 km long starts in 146 km (Dv. Tripartido) and ends in 187 km, in Collpa (border with Bolivia). The Project also includes the construction of Mauri bridge (40 m long) and Kaño bridge (20 m long)

The President affirmed that construction of this road brings to life the political will of both countries to join these developing countries. To summarize, the Project will benefit directly more than 268,000 citizens from 15 districts of Tacna, from Tacna to part of Tarata.

It is important to mention that in February of this year, ICCGSA was awarded with the construction of section Tacna – Collpa of the road integration project Tacna – La Paz, with a budget of S/. 141’413,510 soles for its execution. The deadline of the work is 540 calendar days.
